In the interest of full disclosure, the following statements are made:
A. The term “invention” means the product, process, design, machine, improvement, or composition described by the individual signing a licensing agreement with UL, as being his concept or idea and the form disclosed and described by him as embodying his concept or idea and for which he has already obtained a patent or for which is his in “patent pending” stage.
B. The term “customer” means those individuals or entities that have been referred to UL by UPR. It is noted that UL evaluates and assists every customer. Screening and vetting is conducted by UPR.
C. While UL has been in existence for several years, UPR is new; and the relationship between UL and UPR is new. Furthermore, only those inventors who have elected to pursue a patent are eligible for referral by UPR to UL, and of those eligible for referral, only those inventors who elect to pursue a relationship with UL are counted in this disclosure statement. Accordingly, to date, approximately 353 referrals have been made to UL; of those referrals to UL, approximately 293 have elected to contract with UL. Of the 293 customers who have elected to work with UL, at the present time, over 50 have reached the point of serious interest having UL review a Confidential Disclosure Agreement between the inventor and a potential licensee.
D. At the present time, the total number of UPR customers that have had their products and/or services licensed during the past five years is 0. It is noted that UL has had successes in other areas and the inventor is invited to visit the UL Website to learn more about UL. However, as noted above, UL has been in existence for several years independently of UPR, and has had success in licensing products for their clients (see website).
E. In view of the foregoing facts that so few of the UPR customers have both reached the stage at which they can be referred to UL by UPR and have elected to contract with UL, the total number of UPR customers known by UL to have received a net financial profit for their products as a direct result of the services provided by UL is 0. However, as noted above, UL has been in existence for several years independently of UPR, and has had success in licensing products for their clients (see website).
F. In view of the fact that no customers have yet reached the stage at which they can be referred to UL by UPR, the total number of customers known by UL to have received a license agreements for their products as a direct result of the services provided by UL is 0. As stated above, UL has been in existence for several years and has been very successful in obtaining license agreements for their clients (see website).
G. UL has never been affiliated with any other company or entity which might fall within the definition of an invention promoter as used in the Inventor’s Protection Act.
